Our Integrated Therapies Support Body, Mind, and Spirit with Personalized Care.

At Valley View, Integrated Therapies are one more way we treat the whole person. The specialists we’ve assembled are skilled, compassionate and results-focused. As a team, they offer a unique array of options to help our patients manage the physical, mental and emotional challenges often associated with a cancer diagnosis.

Therapeutic Massage is the manual manipulation of soft tissues such as muscle, connective tissue, tendons, and ligaments to enhance health and well-being. It can also help reduce tension, improve sleep and offer relief for stress-related muscle strain.

Craniosacral Therapy involves gentle, hands-on care that encourages revitalization of the inherent healing potential in the mind, body, and spirit. The resulting subtle energy, tissue, and structure shifts allow patients to experience reduced stress, anxiety, pain and treatment-related symptoms.

Healing Touch is a gentle treatment that helps induce a relaxation response to enhance healing. The practitioner helps facilitate a deep sense of calm that allows for decreased pain and promotes a feeling of restoration.

Manual Lymph Drainage is a hands-on, light massage technique specifically designed to manage the condition of lymphedema. The gentle pressure of the massage helps the body clear and reabsorb fluids that sometimes collect in the surface tissues of the skin, especially following surgery.

Acupuncture is a holistic health modality that stems from Chinese medicine practices. A trained acupuncturist inserts very thin needles into precise target points on the skin to stimulate a healing response. Acupuncture is a relaxing, stress reducing way to help reduce anxiety and manage symptoms such as dry mouth, nausea, fatigue and hot flashes.

Aromatherapy employs natural oils, obtained from aromatic plant material to help provide a healing environment. Oils can be diffused into the air, sprinkled on linens or sometimes rubbed into the skin to help support relaxation and sleep, improve feelings of wellbeing, and even reduce nausea in some patients.

HeartMath™ Mentoring offers patients the opportunity to learn proven tools to manage stress — including the mental, physical and emotional stresses of a cancer diagnosis. A trained Heart Math specialist works with patients to develop self-care tools to help reduce stress whenever and however it appears.

Our Results-Based Integrated Therapies Are Patient-Tested.

Our integrated therapists can show you files full of data on the positive physical impacts of integrated therapies on blood pressure, heart rate and release of stress hormones. But the real benefits of these complimentary modalities are best expressed in the response of our patients.

“I had a terrible headache that would actually wake me up at night. No one could see any reason for it. When I came in for a craniosacral therapy appointment, I didn’t think to mention where the precise locus of this headache was — just above my right eyebrow. But my therapist put her hands on the exact spot right away and helped the pain simmer down significantly in just two sessions.”

“Any kind of serious or chronic illness is a terrible burden on the mind. HeartMath™ reminds me to come back to my heart, breathe in and out, love myself and give my body the balance and support it needs to heal.”

“The anti-nausea medication wasn’t working. I met with an aroma therapist and the peppermint oil she recommended sprinkling in my room made a huge difference. I could finally keep down some water, and then some food.”

“Walking the labyrinth took me to a quiet place in the center of myself I didn’t know was there.”
