Tess Jankovsky, Internal Medicine, MD
As an internal medicine physician, I am thrilled to have an opportunity to return to Glenwood Springs and focus on the health and wellbeing of my hometown community. I’m passionate about internal medicine in rural areas and as a fluent Spanish speaker, I enjoy working with the Spanish speaking community. I received my medical degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine, CO and completed my internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Washington Affiliated Hospitals, WA. When I’m not attending to patients you can find me on the ski slopes.
Susan J. Inscore, MD
For over 25 years, I have cared for patients in the community as part of the medical staff at Valley View. I completed my residency and internship at the Marshfield Clinic in Wisconsin. Internal medicine allows me to work with a large variety of individuals and develop lasting relationships with my patients. As a Certified Clinical Densitometris, I specialize in the treatment and diagnosis of Osteoporosis. I enjoy the mix of working in the clinic and hospital environment. The Roaring Fork Valley is such a great place to live – I came here, raised my family and haven’t left yet! I enjoy kayaking, tele skiing and spending time with family.
Steven A. O’Brien, MD
While I was a pharmacist, I realized I wanted to make a greater impact on the wellbeing of people in the community. I knew medicine was for me! Internal medicine provides a scope of care that gives me an opportunity to work with adults, young and old, through education and treating simple and complex health issues. Building long-term relationships are important to the health of patients. Additionally, considering social and environmental factors are important to providing whole patient care. I completed my residency and medical degree from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center School of Medicine, Denver. I enjoy outdoor activities, photography, dogs and gardening.
Martha A. Oppegard, MD
I grew up in Denver, Colorado and attended the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center for Medical School. I completed my residency in Internal Medicine at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Denver, Colorado. Upon completion of residency, I moved with my husband to Glenwood Springs where I practiced primary care and hospital medicine at Glenwood Medical Associates for the next 12 years. In 2010, I moved over to Valley View Hospital and worked as a Hospitalist and as the Director of Hospitalist services. I am passionate about the idea of transforming primary care in our valley in order to provide patient-centered, comprehensive, coordinated and accessible care to adults ranging from ages 16-116. I have a special interest in adolescent medicine, infectious diseases and rheumatology. I am an outdoor enthusiast, enjoying everything this valley has to offer. I also love exploring new music, unique foods and travel excursions with my husband and daughters.
Robert Nelson, PA-C
It’s an honor to return to the valley and provide a broad spectrum of care to the community I grew up in. After earning my bachelor’s degree, I completed the Physician Assistant program at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Denver. As a Physician Assistant, I’m committed to providing care that is truly patient-centered. In addition to seeing patients for primary care and wellness visits, my clinical focus is caring for people with diabetes; board certified in Advanced Diabetes Management, I provide a variety of care solutions including insulin pump management and continual glucose monitoring. I also function as Valley View Hospital’s Quality Director for Physician Practices. Outside of work, my family is my first priority. We enjoy the many outdoor activities Colorado has to offer.
