The emergency team is made up of nurses, physicians, and people who perform x-rays,laboratory work and respiratory care. These people staff the emergency department 24 hours a day and are qualified to meet the needs of the emergency patient. Our emergency department has been recognized for service excellence by J.D. Powers & Associates Distinguished Hospital Program.SM as "An Outstanding Emergency Department Experience."
Victims of sexual assault receive the highest level of care through our Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner, (SANE), program. A Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) is a registered nurse who is trained to do medical-forensic exams for people affected by sexual assault or rape. Learn more about sexual assault.
Emergency treatment requires space to operate.
The number of visitors in the emergency treatment area must be kept as low as possible. This gives members of the emergency team sufficient space to perform their duties as quickly as possible with the fewest interruptions. In this way, patients receive the attention and care their situation requires while maintaining privacy.
