Neurosurgical services were brought to Valley View Hospital with the arrival of Dr. David Miller in 2007. The ability to perform neurosurgical procedures augments the level of emergency care locally, especially in cases of trauma involving head injuries. Neurosurgeon Claudio Feler, M.D. joined Dr. Miller in 2011.

Our neurosurgeons have previously served on the staffs of the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic Foundation and the Semmes-Murphy Clinic at the University of Tennessee.  They bring with them a wealth of more than 35 years experience in the treatment of complex brain and spinal conditions.  They have a particular interest in minimally-invasive treatments for spinal conditions, brain tumors and Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) for the treatment of movement disorders.  They also provide very crucial brain and spinal trauma services to the mountain region.
