Neurosurgical services were brought to Valley View Hospital with the arrival of Dr. David Miller in 2007. The ability to perform neurosurgical procedures augmented the level of emergency care locally, especially in cases of trauma involving head injuries. Dr. Miller has since been joined by neurosurgeon Claudio Feler, M.D.

Skilled in a wide range of neurosurgical procedures, their expertise ranges from brain surgery, including tumor excision, to complex spinal reconstruction. High Mountain Brain and Spinal Surgery's practice philosophy is patient-centered and every effort is made to treat problems conservatively.  The neurosurgeons have a special interest in minimally invasive surgical procedures and try to employ them whenever indicated. The team strives to give patients and their families the attention they deserve.
