WHO MAY BENEFIT
Persons with functional deficits secondary to medical problems such as:
- Pulmonary Disease
- Cardiac conditions or cardiac surgery
- Cancer or cancer treatment
- Other injuries or illnesses resulting in a patient's loss of functional capabilities
PROGRAM FOCUS
The goal is to provide therapeutic treatment to build skills necessary to achieve the maximum possible level of independence and to provide treatment and education aimed at preventing reoccurrence or exacerbation of the condition.
We conduct an evaluation of the individual's abilities in order to develop and implement
a treatment plan, which may include:
- Education regarding the condition.
- Maximizing the potential in both physical and cognitive function.
- Lessening the frequency and severity of exacerbation or complications.
PATIENT PARTICIPATION
The patient's role becomes that of an active participant in learning techniques to better mange the condition.
