Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Program (S.A.N.E.) of Valley View Hospital

A Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (S.A.N.E.) is a nurse who is trained to do medical-forensic exams for people affected by sexual assault or rape.

These exams should be performed as soon as possible after the assault, to:

  • take care of an injury, whether or not it is immediately evident

  • prevent sexually transmitted infections

  • prevent pregnancy

  • collect evidence of the crime.

If you have been the victim of unwanted, forced or coerced sexual activity, please visit our emergency room immediately and ask for a sexual assault nurse examiner.

New for 2008, the Valley View Hospital Foundation will raise money to help fund the family rooms in the new patient care area. In addition to the two family rooms are a dining room with a kitchen.

The Planetree philosophy at V.V.H. recognizes that caring for the families helps everyone care more for the patients.
