Your need for pre-surgery blood tests or electrocardiogram will be determined by your surgeon and anesthesiologist.
Your surgeon may ask that you see your regular medical doctor for a physical exam prior to your admission.
If you are having a surgical procedure that requires post-operative hospitalization, you are encouraged to make an appointment for a pre-operative visit with a Day Surgery Unit nurse.
During this visit your questions regarding your hospitalization will be answered and hospital procedures will be explained. If not already done at your doctor's office, the required lab work, EKG and any additional tests ordered by your surgeon will be completed at this time.
