Meals on Wheels

If you're homebound due to illness or physical challenges, or are recovering from surgery at home, you may find it difficult to prepare a warm meal.

For 14 years, Meals on Wheels volunteers have been delivering healthy lunches throughout Glenwood Springs.

Each meal fulfills a third of a person's daily nutritional requirements, and consists of an entree, a vegetable, a salad, a carbohydrate such as potato or noodles, and a dessert.

Deliveries within Glenwood Springs are scheduled for Monday, Wednesday and Friday and extra meals with different menus can be delivered and stored for other days.

Meals are $2.65.

Meals on Wheels volunteers also fulfill a non-nutritional need, offering the warmth of human contact to those who may feel isolated at home. They offer an extra safety line for families caring for a mobility impaired relative.

The music needs to have a particular beat to induce a physical state whereby your breathing and heart rate slow down and your blood pressure lowers.
