What is Mammography?

A mammogram is a breast x-ray that can reveal a small breast cancer up to two years before it can be felt. This important test is extremely safe, as modern Mammography uses very low amounts of radiation.

How Often?

The following guidelines for women with no symptoms, are based on the consensus of a number of medical organizations:

  • An initial screening Mammogram by age 40.

  • Annual Mammography for all women age 40 and over.
