How Do I Make An Appointment?
To make
an appointment for a routine screening mammogram please call 970-384-7680,
where you can also leave a confidential message containing the following
information:
- your name and daytime phone number
- approximately when you'd like to schedule your mammogram
- days and times of the day that will work best for you
- whether or not you have breast implants
- any other information you feel is important
Your call will be returned within two business days.
If you have found a lump, or have other breast related symptoms, please consult with your physician prior to scheduling a mammogram. For immediate scheduling assistance please dial 970-384-7640.
How will I know the results?
Your
physician will receive a copy of the radiologist's dictated results
of your Mammography examination. In accordance with MQSA guidelines,
you will receive a letter, in lay terms, also notifying you of the results
of your Mammography examination.
What if further evaluation is necessary?
Sometimes
the radiologist will feel further evaluation is necessary. Please don't
be alarmed if you are called back for additional views. Mammography
is a sensitive tool and sometimes "sees" irregularities
that may not be real. Additional views can solve this problem quickly;
if not, a follow-up exam in four to six months might be recommended.
There is a separate charge for additional views and follow-up exams.
Two Bills?
You will receive two bills for your Mammogram. Valley
View Hospital will bill for the Mammography examination and Mountain
Radiology will bill for the interpretation of the exam.
