Kid's Health and Safety

Keeping your child healthy is a big job! Injuries are the number one cause of death for children and adolescents ages 1 to 21. There are important steps that parents, pediatricians and communities can take to keep injuries from happening. But when an injury does occur, quick action to give appropriate first aid can reduce the consequences of the injury.

Motor vehicle crashes account for the largest number of accidental deaths in children and adolescents ages 1 to 21. Make sure that all infants and children use the proper child car seats, booster seats, and seat belts. Click here to read more about Child Safety in motor vehicles and the Law.

Drowning is the second leading cause of unintentional injury death for children and adolescents, so brush up on Water Safety.
