National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA)

Special resources for parents, students & young adults, and medical professionals on the science of drug abuse and addiction.  Information on detecting and responding to emerging drug abuse trends, understanding how drugs work in the brain and body, and developing new treatment and prevention approaches.  NIDA is part of the National Institutes of Health.

Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)

SAMHSA funds and supports prevention and early intervention programs for substance abuse treatment, mental health, and recovery support services in local communities.  Includes the National Clearinghouse for Alcohol and Drug Information.  SAMHSA is part of the US Department of Health & Human Services.
