honors and celebrates the many acts of heroism and compassion performed by Valley View staff who care for Valley View cancer patients. Recipients demonstrate an extraordinary level of care, going above and beyond their staff role.

Requirements for nomination include:

  • Nominees must be a current Valley View staff member.
  • Nominees can be a physician, nurse or any other staff member from across the organization.
  • Care and support was given during a patient’s cancer treatment at Valley View.

A generous gift to the Valley View Foundation
supports this award.

The Foundation serves as the coordinating entity. An anonymous committee reviews and selects the recipient.

The recipient is announced at Valley View’s annual Rally the Valley event. The recipient is honored with his/her name on the Ribbon of Hope plaque in the Calaway ∙ Young Cancer Center. The recipient also receives a ‘scholarship’ for professional development to advance his/her skills related to their position at Valley View. The ‘scholarship’ will be realized through collaboration with the recipient’s supervisor, through their respective Valley View department.

  • A narrative of no more than 500 words that describes your reasons why this person should receive The Ribbon of Hope Award.
  • Clearly affirm that the Valley View staff member demonstrated an extraordinary level of care to a Valley View cancer patient, going above and beyond their staff role.
  • Optional: No more than three (3) pages of supporting documentation, such as letter of support, that include additional reasons why you think your nominee merits consideration. Attach additional documents to email.
