There are many myths and misconceptions surrounding breast imaging. In this 20-minute webinar, followed by open Q&A, Valley View radiologist, Dr. Will Weathers, along with Valley View mammographer, Becky Williamson, will discuss the truth about mammograms, including cancer detection, the real dosage of radiation in mammograms, improvements in comfort, and the difference in 3-D mammograms versus traditional. This webinar is aimed at women of any stage of life who want to learn more about the breast health.
About the Speakers:
Will Weathers, MD is an experienced radiologist who has been with Mountain Radiology and Valley View for over four years. He has published numerous peer reviewed journal articles. A graduate of the University of Texas Austin undergrad, he went on to complete his Medical degree at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Following medical school, he completed radiology training at UT Health/MD Anderson with special focus in breast imaging at MD Anderson Cancer Center during his final year of residency. After residency, he went on to complete a fellowship at UT Health/MD Anderson.
Becky Williamson has worked as a radiologic technologist the first 13 years of her career, post-graduation from x-ray school at West Virginia University in 1993. She then moved into the mammography field where she has worked for the last 16 years. Becky joined Valley View in 2017 and is board certified in mammography, bone density, radiologic technology, and imaging breast navigation. Becky is also certified in automated breast density and lithotripsy, a procedure used to treat kidney stones. She is the proud mother of a son who serves in the U.S. Army.
