Frank Laws, MD
ELECTROPHYSIOLOGIST & INTERVENTIONAL CARDIOLOGIST
I strive to offer the region the most comprehensive cardiac care; compassionately treating the complexities of both arrhythmic and obstructive coronary heart disease. At Valley View Hospital we are building a hybrid cardiovascular program, which will offer advanced cardiovascular care to members of the Roaring Fork Valley. Our goal is to offer innovative care closer to home, which makes it more accessible to patients and in some cases, more affordable. Most of our talented physicians were invited to join this practice because they are compassionate, and go above and beyond for their patients. My personal mantra is treating my patients as if they were my family.
Marcus Howell, MD
When I joined the Valley View team, the big attraction was the hospital’s commitment to high-quality cardiac care. I am very interested in the treatment of peripheral vascular disorders, including carotid artery disease, aortic aneurysms and lower extremity arterial disease. I received my medical degree at Georgetown University and completed general cardiology, interventional cardiology and vascular medicine fellowship at the Texas Heart Institute in Houston. The level of care at Valley View is better by far than anything you’ll see in any town of similar size; both the technology and the people are outstanding.
James Narrod, MD
CARDIOVASCULAR & THORACIC SURGEON
I specialize in cardiovascular disease and thoracic surgery, and come to Glenwood Springs after spending a decade as chief of surgery at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Grand Junction. I perform minimally invasive procedures for conditions of the heart, lungs and chest wall, as well as electrophysiology therapy for atrial fibrillation, which is the most common heart-related reason for hospital admission. The Heart and Vascular Center at Valley View is a hybrid approach to heart care in the valley, with state of the art equipment, so it’s very exciting. Patients will no longer have to travel to the Front Range to receive a variety of diagnostic and treatment procedures.
Michael Rubinstein, MD
I specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease, and have a special interest in early detection of coronary artery disease and prevention of heart attack. I first came to the Roaring Fork Valley to provide coverage to other physicians in 2008, after spending 25 years in Baltimore at Union Memorial Hospital and Bon Secours Hospital. I am an avid cyclist and also enjoy the recreational opportunities available in the valley. I love being here at Valley View Hospital — the people, the community and the facility. Being part of a team that offers extraordinary, high level cardiac care is a privilege.
