Gynecology Services
Learn more about the gynecological services we offer at Valley View Women's Health:
Endometriosis
Endometriosis is a condition that is present when the tissue that lines the inside of the uterus (endometrium) starts to grow outside of the uterus. Though the cause of endometriosis may not always be able to be identified, our team of skilled OB/GYNs at Women’s Health at Valley View works with women to properly diagnose and treat endometriosis through various procedure options.
Fibroid Treatment
Uterine fibroids are classified as benign lumps that appear on the uterus and may grow larger, becoming inflamed. They may also cause heavy bleeding during menstruation and issues with infertility. At Women’s Health at Valley View, we use ultrasound diagnostic testing, as well as several different treatment options, depending on the extent and number of existing fibroids.
Heavy Menstrual Bleeding
Also known as menorrhagia, heavy bleeding during menstruation may be a symptom of a more serious condition. Our team of board-certified OB/GYNs at Women’s Health at Valley View can provide diagnostic testing to identify the cause of heavy bleeding, as well as offer several treatment options.
Hysterectomy
When there is a condition affecting the uterus and the symptoms are causing a decrease in your quality of life, it may time to consider a hysterectomy. At Women’s Health at Valley View, our team of skilled OB/GYNs may recommend a hysterectomy when other treatments may have not been effective or if you are looking for a permanent form of birth control.
Pap Smear
A Pap smear is typically part of a thorough woman’s health exam and is performed in order to test for any abnormal cells on the cervix. At Women’s Health at Valley View, our skilled team of OB/GYN specialists performs Pap smears in order to test for human papillomavirus (HPV), as well as precancerous and cancer cells.
Well-Woman Exam
As an essential part to your general and sexual health, a well-woman exam is recommended every year to test for any abnormalities and so that you can talk to your doctor about any concerns you may have, including birth control options. At Women’s Health at Valley View, our team of board-certified OB/GYNs are well equipped to provide thorough well-woman exams for women in Glenwood Springs, Basalt, and Silt, CO.
