At Valley View Hospital, our Speech-Language Pathology team provides comprehensive,
evidence-based care for patients of all ages—from newborns to older
adults. Our licensed and highly trained speech-language pathologists (SLPs)
specialize in the evaluation and treatment of a wide range of communication,
cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
We are proud to offer individualized therapy and support across the following areas:
Pediatric & Adult Speech and Language Disorders:
Including articulation delays, language delays or impairments, fluency
disorders (such as stuttering), augmentative and alternative communication
(AAC), motor speech and language impairments due to stroke, TBI, or other
neurological conditions and other communication challenges across the
lifespan—from early childhood to adulthood, as well as following
illness or injury.
Cognitive-Communication Therapy:
Addressing memory, attention, problem-solving, and executive functioning
impairments due to stroke, brain injury, dementia, or other neurological
conditions.
Feeding and Swallowing (Dysphagia) Services:
From infant feeding difficulties to adult swallowing disorders, we offer
bedside evaluations, Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBSS), and advanced
manual therapy techniques including myofascial release to promote safe
and effective swallowing.
Voice Therapy:
Helping patients regain and maintain healthy voice use after vocal cord
injury or illness as well as advanced manual therapy techniques including
myofascial release to reduce tension and improve vocal function.
Head and Neck Cancer Rehabilitation:
Supporting speech, voice, and swallowing recovery before, during, and after
cancer treatment.
Offering certified treatment programs such as SPEAK OUT!® and LOUD®
to help improve and maintain speech and voice function.
