Valley View CEO Brian Murphy, MD, Named to Becker’s List of Community Hospital CEOs to Know

Valley View CEO Brian Murphy, MD, was recently named to Becker’s Hospital Review’s 2026 list of “Community Hospital CEOs to Know.” The recognition honors health system leaders across the nation who are helping expand health care access, strengthen patient care and respond to the needs of the communities they serve.

In announcing the list, Becker’s Hospital review said:

“The community hospital CEOs recognized here are community stewards, strategic visionaries and patient advocates. While acute care remains central to their mission, these forward-thinking executives also prioritize expanding their institutions’ offerings, making sure to weave primary care, specialty treatments, rehabilitation and public health programs into a broader picture of community health.”

Since being named CEO in 2019, Dr. Murphy has been committed to advancing Valley View’s mission of caring for the community, one patient at a time. He views quality and safety as the foundation of Valley View’s culture, purpose and outcomes, and remains focused on developing effective solutions to the region’s complex health care challenges.

Dr. Murphy brings extensive clinical experience to his leadership, having practiced as a board-certified urologist for 25 years. At Valley View, he has also served as chief of staff, chief medical officer and a member of the Board of Trustees.

Under his leadership, Valley View has received national recognition for health care excellence, including a five-star overall hospital quality rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, designation as a Top 100 Rural & Community Hospital by the Chartis Center for Rural Health and recognition from the Women’s Choice Award as one of America’s Best Hospitals.
