About Andrew
Andrew Ormsby, MD, is a hospitalist at Valley View, where he primarily works with patients in the acute and critical care units. He earned his medical degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine, where he went on to complete a residency in internal medicine. Dr. Ormsby also holds a Master of Business Administration from the Leeds School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in molecular biology and political science from the University of Colorado Boulder.
Dr. Ormsby is drawn to the fast-paced, hands-on work of critical care and enjoys using diagnostic tools like bedside ultrasound to make real-time, informed decisions. He’s also a strong advocate for patient autonomy. “I really like to involve patients and have them guide me in their care,” he says. “It’s so important to understand who each person is, build rapport and personalize treatment based on their goals.”
A Colorado native, Dr. Ormsby came to the Roaring Fork Valley in 2026 with his wife, Cali Ormsby, who also works as a hospitalist physician assistant at Valley View, and their daughter. The couple are avid world travelers, including a year spent backpacking across South America and Southeast Asia and completing a trek to Everest Base Camp in Nepal. Dr. Ormsby credits travel with broadening his cultural perspective and helping him better understand the diverse backgrounds of people, allowing him to provide more thoughtful, patient-centered care.
Outside of work, Dr. Ormsby enjoys trail running, hiking, biking, reading and painting, and looks forward to raising his daughter with his wife in a small-town mountain community.
