About Brice

Dr. Brice Nelson Alvord is a board-certified diagnostic radiologist with fellowship training in musculoskeletal imaging. He provides expert interpretation of advanced imaging studies involving the musculoskeletal system and has extensive experience in general radiology, including CT, MRI, ultrasound and fluoroscopic studies. In addition, Dr. Alvord has significant experience in breast imaging—including mammography, ultrasound and MRI—as well as image-guided procedures such as joint injections, aspirations and biopsies.

Dr. Alvord’s approach to radiology emphasizes diagnostic precision, clear communication and collaboration with referring physicians to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care. He believes in treating every patient with the same respect, compassion and thoroughness that he would want for himself or his own family.

Dr. Alvord earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Science from Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. He received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, College of Medicine in Memphis, where he also completed a preliminary internship in internal medicine. He went on to complete his residency in diagnostic radiology at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, followed by a fellowship in musculoskeletal imaging at the Pennsylvania State University Medical Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

His professional background includes experience as a musculoskeletal radiologist, a trauma and emergency radiologist, and locum tenens and teleradiology provider across multiple states. Dr. Alvord has also held leadership and committee roles focused on advancing diagnostic imaging services and clinical operations.

Dr. Alvord is certified by the American Board of Radiology and the National Board of Medical Examiners.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Alvord enjoys spending time with his wife, Katie, and their three children. Together they love traveling and exploring the outdoors. He is active in his local church and community. His personal interests include digital photography, fly-fishing, mountain biking, kayaking, backpacking, car camping, snow skiing and playing piano and guitar.
