About Cali
Cali Ormsby, PA-C, is a hospitalist physician assistant at Valley View. She earned her master’s degree in physician assistant studies at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, where she later completed an advanced practice fellowship in hospital medicine.
Cali earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology and was initially on track to pursue a PhD, but a strong desire for hands-on patient care led her in a new direction. With encouragement and support from her husband, Dr. Andrew Ormsby—also a hospitalist at Valley View—Cali changed course and began her career in health care.
Cali loves the collaborative nature of inpatient care and the ability to use real-time data to make informed decisions that best serve patients. Even in busy or stressful times, Cali leads with empathy in her work. “You’re caring for people during these very challenging moments, and it’s important to see things from their perspective,” she says. “This is someone’s mom; this is someone’s dad. I always pause to think about what I would want for my own family.”
Outside of work, Cali enjoys staying active outdoors and spending time with her husband and daughter. She and Dr. Ormsby are avid world travelers, with trips that include a year backpacking across Southeast Asia and South America, as well as three months in Nepal, where they completed a trek to Everest Base Camp.
Having grown up in Dillon, Colorado, Cali is excited to once again be living and working in a small mountain community—this time, with a family of her own.
