About Foster

Foster Goss, DO, MMSc is an emergency physician and Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) at Valley View. He completed his residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center and pursued a National Library of Medicine fellowship in biomedical informatics at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Goss holds board certifications in both emergency medicine and clinical informatics.

Prior to joining Valley View, Dr. Goss worked at University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus where he was involved in many patient safety, quality and innovation efforts including the introduction of clinical pathways, real-time benefit check and artificial intelligence for chart summarization and sepsis prediction. Dr. Goss remains on faculty at the University of Colorado as an associate professor in emergency medicine and biomedical informatics, where he will continue his research.

Dr. Goss has received multiple federal grants, resulting in over 50 peer-reviewed publications and national conference presentations. His current interests include artificial intelligence, health-related social needs, electronic health record optimization and the impact of climate change on patient safety, equity and health care delivery.
