About Heidi
Heidi Schoephoerster, NP, is a hospitalist at Valley View. She earned her master of science in nursing from the University of Colorado Anschutz.
Prior to joining Valley View, Heidi held positions at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus as a registered nurse in the surgical-trauma intensive care unit and as a traveling nurse at various facilities including Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Intensive Care Unit, Intermountain Medical Center in Utah and University of California, San Diego.
Working as a hospitalist, Heidi says, provides the frontline access and variety of cases she enjoys in patient care.
“A lot of my nursing career has been working with a population that doesn’t normally have access to care,” says Heidi. “Providing good quality care, regardless of a patient’s background, is my goal. I’m going to do my best to give people the care they deserve.”
Heidi is currently a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She has also been published on the subject of thromboelastography in the Journal of Paranesthesia Nursing.
Originally from Colorado’s Front Range, Heidi moved to the Roaring Fork Valley in 2025. Outside of work, she spends her time away from the hospital in the outdoors where she enjoys mountain biking, backcountry skiing, climbing and, simply, mountain living.
