About Kaylee

Kaylee Peterson, LCSW, MSW, is a trauma therapist with the Youth Recovery Center, where she provides therapeutic services to youth with co-occurring substance use and behavioral health disorders.

Kaylee earned dual bachelor’s degrees in political science and sociology from the University of Colorado Boulder. She then earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work, with an emphasis on child welfare and families. Before joining the Youth Recovery Center, she was a behavioral health provider at Valley View’s Pediatric Partners.

“Families and youth are the foundation of our society. When kids get a healthy start to life, they’re more likely to be happier, healthier and productive,” Kaylee said. “I think it’s so important that we invest in those early years of life.”

Born and raised in the Valley, Kaylee finds it especially meaningful to support local youth through a trauma-informed approach to care.

“We’re looking at these issues holistically and recognizing that substance abuse isn’t a moral failure,” Kaylee said. “Recovery gives young people an opportunity to make positive changes for their future.”

Outside of work, you can find Kaylee gardening, crafting, paddleboarding or hiking with her dog.
