About Matthew
Matthew L. Goodstein, M.D., is a board-certified Otolaryngologist who has been providing ear, nose and throat care to patients in the Roaring Fork and Eagle valleys since he joined the medical staff at Valley View in July 1992.
Dr. Goodstein completed medical school and his residency in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He then remained on staff at Johns Hopkins for an additional year as an instructor in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery before starting his practice in Glenwood Springs.
During his tenure at Valley View, Dr. Goodstein has served as Chairman of the Department of Surgery, President of the Medical Staff and a member of the Board of Trustees.
While providing all aspects of ear, nose and throat care for pediatric and adult patients, Dr. Goodstein has a special interest in treating disorders of the nose and paranasal sinuses as well as surgery of the thyroid and parathyroid glands.
“I try and treat everybody as an individual in a compassionate and caring way, the same way I’d want someone in my family to be treated,” says Dr. Goodstein.
Dr. Goodstein enjoys hiking, cross-country skiing and sailing. Mostly, he cherishes the time he spends with his wife and their two Shetland Sheepdogs and considers his greatest accomplishment to have been raising three children in this wonderful community.
