About Anika

Anika Sasinski, PA-C is a hospitalist at Valley View. She earned her master’s degree in physician assistant studies degree from Saint Catherine University in Saint Paul, Minn. and her undergraduate studies degree from Michigan State University.

Before joining Valley View, Anika gained extensive experience in various laboratory roles across Minnesota and Utah. Her journey into medicine began in her childhood, growing up in rural Michigan with Polish immigrant parents. Often acting as their translator during medical appointments, she realized the stress her family faced due to the lack of language interpretive services. “I picked up quickly that contact with medical professionals was stressful for my family,” she says. “As a young child, I decided I could do this kind of work but with much more empathy.”

At Valley View, Anika's role as a hospitalist involves working closely with not only the other hospitalists, but all other health care disciplines to coordinate a patient’s entire hospital journey from admission to discharge. Along the way, she ensures every individual receives comprehensive and compassionate care. “I listen to every word,” Anika says. “I am my patient’s advocate, and I want them to feel like they have control over how their care is being delivered.”

Anika’s patient-centered approach involves focusing on one patient at a time, listening intently, and answering questions with enthusiasm. “I get the most out of my job by being with my patients and their families,” she says. “I’m always ready and excited to answer questions, hear concerns, and elaborate.”

Originally from Michigan, Anika and her husband, Dominic, a general dentist, recently settled in Eagle, Colo. They were drawn to the area by its world-class skiing, top-notch mountain biking, access to rock climbing, backpacking and hiking opportunities. “We enjoy the outdoors and embrace all it has to offer,” she says.
